Conference: Technologies of Life

Prof. Doogab Yi organized an International Conference, “Technologies of Life,” held at the Institute of Historical Research at Seoul National University, South Korea. The conference intends to examine the uses of life in various historical and national contexts, ranging from contemporary genomics, global stem cell research, to traditional horticultural practices and reproductive technologies in East Asia. The conference aims to provide a good opportunity to conceive the history of biotechnology in broader terms of biopolitics and justice, such as security, population, and prosperity, and ask in what ways different technologies of life have contributed to the uses of life for securing health, controlling population, and fostering economic prosperity in different national contexts.

Here's a poster and a photo of the conference, "Technologies of Life."
